Walter E. Marasco

Aug. 14, 1927 – Jan. 13, 2026

Walter E. Marasco, 98, of Antis Township, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Carmella Marasco and was raised in the home of the late Tom and Leona Moser.

He married Lorraine L. Seymore in Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2010.

Surviving are his children: Doak J. Marasco of Altoona, Brian E. Marasco of Antis Township, Christine A. (Charles Jr.) Campbell of Altoona and Linda L. Marasco of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren: April Laferriere, Doak and Tamara Marasco and Heather and Hannah Campbell; seven great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Marasco, Kayla Blaizer, Abagail Laferriere, Anna and Carissa Marasco, Cameron Clark and Norah Mary Ellen Vo; and his stepsiblings: Jerry Moser, Anna Jackson, Kitty

Morningred, Joan Miner, Judy Huff, Mary Ellen Lower, Frank and Mary Lee Probst.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Adam Campbell.

Walter was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

He retired as a truck driver at Sylvania GTE Phillips after 40 years of service.

He was a member of

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood.

Walter was a life member of Bellwood VFW, American Legion and F.O.E, the Bavarian Aid Society,

Catholic War Vets, Cesare Battista Club and Buccinese Club, all of Altoona.

He enjoyed polka dancing, hunting and traveling on trips with his children.

Walter's greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood, where a vigil for the deceased will also be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood, with the Rev. Michael Pleva as celebrant, followed by military

honors.

The family suggests that contributions in Walter's memory be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood.
