Michael B. “Mike” Gondek, 51, of Sinking Valley, Altoona, died unexpectedly on Friday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Francis W. Gondek and the late Zelda M. (Kimmen) Gondek Riddle.
Surviving are two daughters, Abby L. Gondek and Rebecca N. Gondek, both of Altoona.
Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Frank W. Gondek.
He was a graduate of Glendale High School.
He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and was an avid outdoorsman.
He was a member of the Swiss Club, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Father Mariusz Gorazd officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
