Linda Faye Bonsell

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Leonard and Faye (Focht) Crust. On Aug. 21, 1991, she married Clair Bonsell, who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2021.

Surviving are her daughter, Denise (Mark) Sprankle; five siblings: Richard Crust, Beverly (Mark) Pilger, John (Dianne) Crust, Carol (Lee) Grimm and Susan (Patrick) McFarland; five grandchildren: Kayla (Leonard), Tifani (Tyler), Justin (Erica), AJ (Katie) and Jason; 11 great-grandchildren: Caleb, Chloe, Logan, Everly, Blake, Jaxon, Lux, Ryder, Jones, Kiera and Jaina; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Linda was also preceded by a son: James Schopp, on April 25, 2020; as well as three siblings: Robert, Shirley and Fred Crust.

She was a 1964 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She retired from State of the Art Inc. in 2015 as a thin film assembler. She was a member of Tyrone Alliance Church, where she was heavily involved.

Linda was a very active person. She volunteered at the Blair Senior Center in Tyrone, was a committee member with Girls Night Out Altoona Inc. and was involved with TAHS class of 1964 reunions and meet-ups. She loved the Steelers and Eagles, but loved high school and college wrestling more than any other sport. She was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her family meant everything to her and her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at Tyrone Alliance Church, Pastor Carl Schmidt officiating. Private interment will be made at the Bald Eagle Cemetery.
