Joyce Ileen Hillard

Joyce Ileen Hillard, 81, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly on Monday at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Louise Elvey and Walter Stayer.

She is survived

by two sons, Russell Burk of Altoona and Travis (Dawn) Hillard of Fallentimber;

10 grandchildren; 17 great-

grandchildren; two great-

great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Stayer.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Burk and Michael Hillard; and a sister-in-law, Dottie Stayer.

Above all, Joyce loved her sons and cherished her time with family. She loved the noise and the chaos of a full house. She never turned anyone away. Her quick wit, spunk and sass have created lasting memories filled with love and laughter for all those who knew her.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
