John Fredrick Berish

On Nov. 22, 2003, he married Judy Gregory.

He is survived by his loving wife; a son, John A. Berish; a stepson, Jonathan Leonard; a grandson, Jacob; and five siblings: Mary Earnest, Janet Gisler, George Berish Jr., Sue Raab and Barbara Berish.

John was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick Berish.

He was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School and was previously a mechanic for Rabits Auto.

John was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

He enjoyed working on and painting cars and was a member of the Glendale Auto Club.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at noon on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, with the Rev. Father Ananias Buccicone OSB officiating.

Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association (action.lung.org) in John’s Memory.
