Robison
Jeffrey Don Robison, 77, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, secure in faith and surrounded by the love he shared so freely. Jeff was born in Altoona, the son of Alice and Donald Robison. A lifelong resident of the Altoona area, he was deeply rooted in and proud of the community he served for decades.
Jeff was an active and devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Jeff married the love of his life, Judith A. (Zeigler) Robison, on June 5, 1971. Together, they built a family grounded in faith, education and service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Judy; his children, Jill (Nathan) Isaacson and Jamie Robison; three grandchildren: Connor and Lucas Isaacson and Alaina Robison; and a sister-in-law, Paula Robison.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gerald D. Robison.
A proud graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1966, Jeff carried his Mountain Lion pride with him throughout his life. He went on to attend Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in 1970 and a Master of Education degree in 1974, proof that once he became a Nittany Lion (WeAre!), he never stopped learning. Jeff continued his lifelong commitment to education by completing numerous post graduate courses in education and supervision.
Jeff devoted 35 years to the Altoona Area School District, retiring in 2005 after a remarkable career spent shaping young minds and hearts. From 1970 to 2005, he taught fourth grade at Wright Elementary School, where his classroom was known for its patience, laughter and high expectations. Beyond the classroom, Jeff mentored student teachers and served as an educational consultant for PSU University Park, Juniata College and Saint Francis University, supporting student teacher readiness, curriculum development and professional training.
Life outside the classroom brought Jeff just as much joy. He had a passion for photography, with his work frequently featured in the Altoona Mirror. Jeff loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. He especially enjoyed evening drives in his Corvette with the top down, weekends spent at games in Happy Valley, exploring Fort Roberdeau and annual summer vacations in Fenwick Island. Jeff took particular joy in time spent with his beagles, his friends and, most of all, his grandchildren, who were the true pride of his life.
Jeff was a dedicated member of the AASD Alumni Association, the AHS Class of 1966 Committee, PSU Alumni Association, Nittany Lion Club, National Rifle Association, Altoona Rifle and Pistol Club and Harley-Davidson Owners Group.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Traci Marriott officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 200 Third Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
Jeff’s legacy endures in every life he touched through the students he taught, the teachers he mentored and the family and friends who will love and honor him by carrying his values forward.
