Frank Paul Kobuck Jr., 87, of Tyrone, passed away peacefully on Friday with his wife, Jo Ann, and family by his side. He was born in Bald Eagle, a son of the late Frank Sr. and Sarah (Reese) Kobuck.
On May 7, 1960, he married Jo Ann Parker at Bald Eagle United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann; five daughters: Jacqueline Pighetti, Vicky (Steve) Miller, Pamela (Angelo) Corrado, Amy (Greg) Wolf and April (John) LaRosa; and two sons, Frank (Sherri) Kobuck III and James Kobuck. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Ginger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margie Stahl and Dianne Day; and an infant son.
Frank was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1956-62.
Frank worked as a heavy equipment operator on the construction of many highways, including I-99. He later did what he loved best: logging and sawmilling.
Frank was a member of Bald Eagle United Methodist Church.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., 1200 Lincoln Ave., Tyrone; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Erin Jones officiating.
Interment with military honors will be held at the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Very special thanks to his daughter, Jackie, and Aide Amy for their many hours of compassionate care, allowing him to stay in his home; and to Gentiva Hospice for their comfort and guidance during Frank’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
