Ernest L. Bonsell, 85, Sinking Valley, died Wednesday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ernest Sr. and Virginia (Bailey) Bonsell. Surviving are his wife, Gudrun; sons: Ernest, Ingemar and Erik; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma McGoon; and uncle, Bill Bonsell. Ernest was a U.S. Army veteran. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg. Graveside military service to follow at 2 p.m., at Arch Spring Cemetery, Sinking Valley. Arrangements by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
