Erdene Hoover, 91, of Roaring Spring, passed away Wednesday at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born in McKee, daughter of the late Samuel and Edith (Caswell) Wilt.
On Oct. 4, 1958, she married Donald W. Hoover. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Harp (Ed) of Roaring Spring; a son, Clay Hoover (Dena); grandchildren: Christopher (John) and Matthew Liebal and Caroline Del Biondo (Justin); sister-in-law, Rita Wilt; special nieces and nephews: Jeanie and Robert Taylor, Brenda and Steve Treece and Stephanie and Billy Myers and children; and her caregivers: Caroline and Gary Hoover and Jennie Baughman.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Hoover; brothers: Samuel "Pete," Gerald "Bud," Donald "Sonny" and Norman "Russell" Wilt; and sisters: Kathleen Wentz, Jean Downing, Ethel Taylor and Helen Decker.
Erdene was a 1953 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She was employed as a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone and assisted her husband at Don's Pizza.
Erdene attended Leamersville Church of the Brethren and enjoyed assembling puzzles, playing bingo, going to casinos and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday Jan. 23, 2026, at Leamersville Church of the Brethren, 89 Country Lane, Duncansville, with Pastor Stephen Durr officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Leamersville Church of the Brethren; or the McKee Playground.
