Donald ‘Scott’ Leonard

Donald "Scott" Leonard, 62, Tyrone, passed away Tuesday at his residence after an extended illness. Scott was born in Altoona, son of the late William and Patsy (Pierson) Leonard.

On April 25, 1987, he married Bobbi Dukeman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; three sons: Adam Leonard (Meeny) of Columbus, Ohio, Ryan Leonard of Tyrone and Matthew Leonard (Dena) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Peyton, Bentley, Mason and Leela; four brothers: William Leonard II, Raymond

Leonard (Darlene) and David Leonard (Meg), all of Altoona, and Robert Leonard (Angela) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters: Linda Closson of Williamsburg, Carol Clossen (George) of Hollidaysburg and Patricia Sternberg (Carl) in New York; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by a son, Donald Scott "Scotty" Leonard II.

He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserves.

Scott spent most of his career doing what he loved -- building houses -- and was most recently employed by The Blair Companies for many years.

He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar and working around the house. Scott was known as a dedicated family man who adored his family and his German Shepherds.

Friends will be received from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. by Pastor Douglas McGaffin. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
