Wilbur C. Derencin

Wilbur C. Derencin, 88, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Somerset, son of the late Clifford V. and Geneva I. (Felton) Derencin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. Shaffer, on Aug. 20, 2018; a brother, Bernard; and three sisters: JoAnn, Betty and Wilma.
Surviving are his son, Eric Derencin (Michelle); a sister, Barbara Harris; a brother, Donald Derencin; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilbur served in the Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class during the Vietnam War.
He was a document control representative at Chicago Rivet and Machine Co., where he retired after 49 years of service.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Interment will take place at Somerset County Memorial Park.
