Victor P. Prugar

Victor P. Prugar, 63, of Altoona, passed away Monday at his sister's home in Martinsburg, surrounded by his family. Victor was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Vincent E. and Dolores Sylvia (Ziobro) Prugar.

Surviving are his siblings: Vanessa M. of Altoona, Vivian R. Fry (Edward L.) of Martinsburg, Valerie A. Keller (Barry) of Blue Ridge Summit, Vincent M. (Mariola Nikulcza) of York and Vance C. of Old Hickory, Tenn. He was also survived by four nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

In 1986, Victor moved to Tennessee, where he worked in HVAC and construction. Later, he moved to Lancaster, where he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service, before moving home to Altoona. He was a mail handler for the Postal Service for nearly 30 years. He was happiest when he was working outside, especially spending his free time at Coleman Farm with "Smitty" and Mrs. Smith.

Victor was a 1981 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N. Fourth St., Altoona, with Father Nelson Javier TOR.

Private interment at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
