Sandra B. (Beasom) Powley, 82, formerly of Altoona, died Dec. 2, 2025, in Gulf Breeze, Fla., with her son and daughter by her side. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Kenneth G. and Jennie F. (Patton) Beasom.
On Nov. 20, 1965, she married John R. Powley in Altoona.
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline K. (Powley) Smith and husband, William, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; her son, John E. Powley and wife, Maria, of Jacksonville, Fla.: grandchildren, Elijah and Derek Smith of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and sisters, Laura Sutton of Altoona and Rebecca Reighard of Dysart.
Sandra graduated in 1961 from Altoona High School, where she was recognized for her outstanding secretarial skills.
After graduation, she worked as a legal secretary prior to owning and operating WHGM-FM (103.9) and WOPC-TV (ABC) with her husband. They ran these businesses together until selling them in 1986.
