Robert Charles Miller 86, Martinsburg, passed away Thursday at his residence.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Robert Allen and Dorothy Stella (Burkhart) Miller. On June 18, 1960, at First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring, he married Carrol Anne (Shriver) Miller, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Robert (Sharon) Miller of Martinsburg, Michael (Maria) Miller of Honesdale and Lesly (Jim) Miller-Jacobs of Roaring Spring; seven grandchildren: Justin (Emily) Miller of Yellow Creek, Chelsea (Brandon) Sinsheimer of Strasburg, Kevin Miller of Honesdale, Katie (Thomas Klinger) Miller of Pawling, N.Y., Adam (Rosie) Miller of Roaring Spring, Zethan (Jessica) Koch of Altoona and Austin (Crystal) Koch of Reedsville; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (Bill) Grubb of Martinsburg and Shirley (Warren) Smalley of Johnstown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Jade Miller; and father and mother-in-law, Cletus and Anne Shriver.
Bob was a graduate of Penn State University and was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He retired as the Western Division chief of quality assurance. Bob and his wife enjoyed 53 years of camping with their family at local, state and family campgrounds. He loved his winter home in Largo, Fla., spending 16 years there and enjoying his hobbies. Bob spent a lifetime of hunting, fishing and teaching Bible study, as well as collecting Native American artifacts which he graciously donated to a local school district. He taught the art of fly fishing and fly tying at the Garver YMCA and was a past president and member of the Roaring Spring Lions Club and member of the Pennyslvania Society of Professional Engineers and Pennyslvania Society of Land Surveyors. Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at the Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood Living, Martinsburg, the Rev. Jerry McCuller officiating.
