Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Gargon) Shevenock

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Gargon) Shevenock, 94, of Gallitzin, died Friday. She was born in Cresson, daughter of the late Stephen and Kathryn (Reitler) Gargon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Frank” Shevenock; and siblings: Cheryl Slebodnick, Dorthea Forlina and William Gargon. Surviving are siblings, Roseann Tornatore and Paul Gargon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home Inc., 301 Church St., Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at St. Demetrius Roman Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
