Judith A. ‘Judy’ Grimminger

Judith A. "Judy" Grimminger, 86, of Sinking Valley, Altoona, died late Friday evening at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. She was born in Roaring Spring, a daughter of the late Merrill and Maude (Foor) McNally.

She married Edward C. Grimminger on Nov. 19, 1955, in Altoona. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2021.

Surviving are four daughters: Tanya M. Shearer of Antis Township, Mary Jo L. Rodgers of Temecula, Calif., Christine A. D'Uva (Steve) of Graham, N.C., and Patti Lou A. Hughes (Michael) of Dysart; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by a son-in-law, George "Buddy" Shearer.

Mrs. Grimminger was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Altoona, and she was currently attending Hillside Community Church, Juniata, Altoona.

Judy retired as a production technician from Boyer Candy Co. after 11 years' service.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, reading and shopping, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., with Pastor John Poe officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in memory of Judy please be made to Hillside Community Church, 522 North Sixth Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
