Josephine S. “Usha” Lysic, 84, of Lilly, peacefully passed away Sunday at home. She was born in Lilly, the daughter of the late Bolik and Josephine “Sibis” Przybys.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew C. Lysic Jr.; brothers: Chester, Stanley, Joseph, Frank and Andy; and sisters, Margaret Kondis and Frances “Fran” George.
Surviving are daughters, Joanne (Andrew) Regan of Lilly and Cathy (Phillip) Baker of Pittsburgh; as well as her grandchildren: Stephanie (Bill) McGowan, Victoria Regan, Maggie and Maxwell Baker; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Lily McGowan.
Usha was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies and attended Mass regularly.
She loved to walk, do gardening and yard work, but above everything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home Inc., Gallitzin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly, with Father Matthew Reese as celebrant. Burial will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Lilly.
