Moyer

John E. "Jack" Moyer, 87, born in Altoona, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2025.

Jack was married for 54 years to his devoted wife, Donna Moyer (Penatzer). Together, they built a loving family that brought him great pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, Donna; and his children: Robyn Moyer, Tim Lucci, Mike Lucci and Frank Lucci. Jack was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren; and a cherished great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of happiness in his life.

For more than 40 years, Jack worked in the automobile business, retiring from Swope Motors (formerly Mierley Motors) after a long and respected sales career marked by hard work, integrity and strong relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

Jack was an active member of the Jaffa Shrine for more than 50 years and was deeply passionate about the organization's charitable mission, generously supporting its work on behalf of children and families in need.

A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Jack was also a former trustee and remained actively involved in the life of the church for many years. His faith and service were important foundations throughout his life.

An avid hunter, Jack enjoyed time spent outdoors and valued the traditions, friendships and quiet moments that came with it.

Above all, Jack will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a loyal friend and servant to his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg, where a Masonic funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paul Bottenfield officiating.

Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of Jaffa Shrine, 2200 Broad Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
