Gary L. Shank

Gary L. Shank, age 76, of Roaring Spring, went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born in New Enterprise, the son of the late Wilbur and Ethel (Stiffler) Shank.
He married Beverly J. Smeltzer on June 22, 1968.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Gary R. Shank and wife, Caroline, of Woodbury and Stormy Shank of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Aaron Snyder, Keaton Shank, Paxton Shank and Westley Snyder and wife, Brianna; a great-grandson, Keaton A. Shank; a brother, Isaac Shank and wife, Cathy, in Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Desmond MacFall in Alabama.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Shank; and a sister, Mary MacFall.
Gary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring.
He was a 1967 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and attended mechanic school in Blairsville.
Gary retired from Spring Cove Container after 43½ years of service.
He enjoyed hunting, spending time at his cabin, jigsaw puzzles, decorating for the holidays, and he especially loved spending time with friends and family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at
11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, by Pastor Ryan Gephart. Interment will be made at Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Cove Cause for Cancer.
