Allen D. Heltzel

On June 28, 2015, he married Pattie (Aungst) Heltzel, who survives, along with numerous extended family members.

Al was a 1978 graduate of Central High School.

He worked for the shoe factory and was a manager at Walmart for more than 25 years before becoming a delivery driver for Sheetz.

Al was a member of the D. Merl Tipton VFW Post 43, Saxton Sportsmen’s Club, Morrisons Cove Ray-Camp VFW Post 7689, Duncansville VFW Post 8724 and the Nittany American Legion Post 245.

He enjoyed riding across the country on his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Pattie, and camping with his many friends. He was skilled in planning out the routes to ride on, which always included stops at his favorite restaurants to enjoy a meal and a beer. Al was always in search of the best burger or mac and cheese along the way and enjoyed sharing those findings with his friends.

Friends and family will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg. Private interment at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Allen’s name to the Shadyside Hospital Foundation.
