Ronald E. Brode Sr., 84, of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harold E. and Geraldine G. (White) Brode.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Brode, of Tyrone; two daughters, Sherry Bridges (James) and Tammy Lawson (Dale); two sons, Ronald E. Brode Jr. (Rhonda) and Jim Quirin (Barb); five sisters: Marsha, Karen, Debbie, Linda and Pam; a brother, Barry; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Gary, Greg and Jeff.
Ronald retired from Boyer Candy Co. after 39 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Ronald was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan whose hobby was recording all their games for many, many years. Some of them being the only ones recorded.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, Nov. 14, 025, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
