Regis W. Schall

Nov. 20, 1933 – Nov. 12, 2025

Regis W. Schall, 91, of Cassandra, passed away Wednesday in Duncansville. He was born in Hastings, the son of John J. and Mary (Rogal) Schall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Regina (Bopp), whom he married Oct. 10, 1959, at Immaculate Conception Church in New Germany, Pa. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Regina, John, Delores, Loretta, Sr. Mary Kenneth and Raymond.

Regis is survived by his children: Annette (Larry) Shedlock of Altoona, Eric (Tammy Feathers) Schall of Allentown and Mark (Kim Wallace) Schall of Duncansville. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Denise (Josh) Keithley, Bryce (Diana) Schall, Michael (Amanda) Shedlock and Elise (Troy) Dugan; and stepgrandson, Ed Clemans; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Emma JJ, Bailey, Cecilia and Iyla; stepgreat-grandson, Daniel; his sisters: Donna (Paul) Fredo of Pittsburgh and Grace Ann (Gordon) Fredo of Hastings; and his sisters-in-law: Grace Schall of Hastings, Clare Kundrod of Sidman, Fran Bopp of New Germany and Beverly Bopp of Carrolltown; and of course “Pappy Schall” loved all his grand dogs.

Regis served in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division from 1956-58.

He served on the Cassandra Borough Council and was a volunteer for HNA Healing Patch in Ebensburg.

Regis was formerly employed at Kimballs and he retired from Gwin, Dobson and Foreman Engineers.

He loved polkas and polka dancing. He would close his eyes when a polka was playing and say that he felt he was in heaven.

Regis volunteered with the local Veterans Organizations, placing the United States flags on veterans’ graves every Veterans and Memorial Day. He always wore his military hat with his poppy flowers in honor of his comrades.

Family will receive friends from 9 until the 11 a.m. Mass on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at St. Bartho­lomew Catholic Church, Wilmore, with Father Joseph Nale, Celebrant. Military Honors by the Portage Ritual Team to follow at the church. Committal will be private to the immediate family.
