Mary Ann Brubaker

Mary Ann Brubaker, 87, Duncansville, died Tuesday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert A. Jr. and Elizabeth A. (Rossman) Hilton.

She married James L. Brubaker on April 10, 1957, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2023.

Surviving are four children: James A. Brubaker of Duncansville, Catherine A. Harker (Joseph) of Duncansville, William R. Brubaker (Bobbie) of Alum Bank and Jeffrey A. Brubaker of Duncansville; six grandchildren: Bryan, Sarah, Heather, Matthew, Lincoln and Jeremiah; 10 great-grandchildren: Deryk, Alex, Madelyn, Brodie, Kaelyn, Claudia, Della, Bennett, Jax and Oakleigh; two sisters, Nancy Servello of Duncansville and Betsy Shinn in Virginia; and a special family friend, Heidi Rexford.

She was preceded in death by a son, John A. Brubaker; a sister, Vivian Helsel; and two brothers, Robert David Hilton and Jerry Kenawell.

Mary Ann was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from Garvey Manor, where she worked as an LPN.

She was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren.

Mary Ann enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching wildlife at her home and was an excellent pie maker.

Friends will be received from 9:30 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Pastor Bradley Runkle will officiate. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
