Linda Diane Kennedy, 73, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Karle) DeArment.
On Oct. 18, 1975, in The Salem United Church, Altoona, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Kennedy.
Along with her husband of 50 years, Bill, she is survived by children: Jennifer Liegey, married to Travis; Robert Kennedy; and William Kennedy Jr.; 14 grandchildren; sisters: Debra Geesey, married to Barry; Susan DeArment; Bobbie Bollinger, married to Tom; Donna Wicks, married to Bruce; Brenda Quirin; and Polly Hester; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James DeArment.
Linda was a graduate of Altoona Area High School, Class of 1970. She spent her working years in retail, most recently working at Boscov's.
She spent many happy years helping her husband, Bill, coach Little League soccer, sharing her kindness with countless children and families. She loved reading, relaxing at the beach, visiting Fishtails and exploring the world, having lived in and visited nine different countries.
Together, Linda and Bill won United States Army Europe Volunteers of the Year in 1986.
She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Unter Uns Society.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Susan Gingery officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
