Kim L. Gunnett, 91, of Altoona, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Altoona. Born in Korea, on July 25, 1934, Kim met and married Arch Leon Gunnett on April 4, 1955, in Seoul, Korea. They shared 57 years of marriage before his passing on July 27, 2012.
She is survived by her four loving children: David E. Gunnett of Tyrone, Dennis L. Gunnett of Altoona, Doreen F. Gagne of Havre de Grace, Md., and Kimberly A. Marshall and husband, Christopher, of Doylestown. Kim is also survived by four grandchildren: William Gunnett and wife, Sarah, of Duncansville, Adam Gunnett of Monroeville, Philip Alexander Gagne of Redlands, Ca., and Laura Chabalowski and husband, Andrew, of Abington, Md.; as well as three great-grandchildren: Mary Gunnett, Nancy Gunnett, and Philip Thomas Chabalowski.
Kim was a devoted homemaker and, along with her husband, Arch, had previously owned and operated two small businesses in Philadelphia in the 1990s.
A woman of many talents, she was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful, self-taught cook who relied on taste rather than recipes. She was an avid gardener, finding joy in growing both vegetables and flowers. Kim was a member of Altoona Alliance Church and enjoyed going on walks and traveling. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the loving care Kim received from the wonderful staff at Celebration Villa of Altoona.
Family and friends will be received from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Private interment will be held at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
