Joseph Friedenberger, 89, of Altoona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Casper and Theresa (Gramhellar) Friedenberger.
He married Regina Gority on Dec. 26, 1959. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2025, after sharing 65 years of marriage.
Joseph is survived by four loving children: Mary C. Friedenberger (David Keith) of Altoona, Timothy E. Friedenberger (Ginger) in Tennessee, Theresa Lasure (Monty Smith) of Pittsburgh and Mark Friedenberger (Theresa) of Altoona; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Friedenberger.
Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1958-64 and attained the rank of Sergeant. He retired as a die setter from Lumax Industries, Altoona.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.
Joseph loved gardening and playing scrabble with his wife, Regina. He most of all enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
