Feb. 26, 1949 – Oct. 27, 2025
Boucher
James C. “Jim” Boucher, 76, of Lake George, N.Y., passed away peacefully into the Lord’s arms on Oct. 27, 2025, after a courageousfour-month-long fight with cancer.
He was born in Phillipsburg, son of the late Dr. Irvan Boucher II and Treva (Campbell) Boucher.
His sister-in-law, Anna Boucher, preceded him in death.
Jim married Nancy (Luke Thompson) Boucher on May 18, 1991.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his stepchildren, Kelly Thompson of Eureka, Calif., and Ryan (Meghan) Thompson of Barrington, N.H.; his grandchildren, Liam Thompson and Delaney Thompson, whom he adored and was so proud of; and his brother, Irvan A. Boucher III. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judith (Eric) Goodwin; his nephews and niece: Andrew Boucher, Janelle Boucher, Christopher Mason and Robert (Jamie) Mason; his great-nieces: Marina Zaczkiewicz, Skye (Luke) Mason, Scout Jones and Adrienne Mason. Many friends will sadly miss him.
Jim was a ’67 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Academy, a ’69 graduate of Valley Forge Military College and attended the University of Georgia.
He was a partner in Boucher and Metz Builders for many years, and later drove OTR tractor trailers for Imler’s Poultry. He was also very proud of the business he started, Crown Car Care Detailers, and enjoyed 20 years of making long-lasting friendships.
Jim grew up in Altoona and spent 75 years in the surrounding area until he and Nancy moved to Lake George, N.Y., to be close to family. They spent a wonderful year enjoying their “little” retirement home and spent many hours on their front porch swing, which Jim called “his happy place.”
In Jim’s younger years, he raised, trained and showed many German shepherds. He had a true love for dirt track racing, starting at a very young age with Al Chamberlain. Later, he became part of the pit crew for Larry Wright, racing “31” for many years, and through it developed quite an extended family. Jim had a love for NASCAR and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mostly, he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Many of Jim’s friends and family will miss him.
At his request, there will be no services. Interment at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury, N.Y., will be made at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
