Harry Richard Notestine

Harry Richard Notestine, 94, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Tuesday at the home. He was born in Lewistown, a son of the late John and Mildred (Bourdess) Notestine.

Dick was first married to Doris Hanawalt on Aug. 20, 1955, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 1982. He then married Wanda L. Lovell on April 10, 1985.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda; his daughters, Carol A. (Harlan) Cox of Bel Air, Md., and Sherry L. Lovell of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren: Allison (Jim) Dillard, Adam Cox, Ashley Lewis, Sam

(Stephanie) Lewis and Brandy Lovell; great-grandchildren, Stella and Leif Dillard; and his sister, Jean Harpst of State College.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie K. Harris; and siblings: John "Chub," George, Fred and Tom Notestine.

Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict.

He retired from the sales and delivery departments of Agway, Tyrone. He was also formerly employed as a delivery driver at Marianna Foods, Tipton.

Dick was a member of Tyrone Alliance Church, where he formerly served as head trustee and elder. He was also a member of McVeytown Lodge F&AM and a member and past president of Jaffa Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps.

Dick enjoyed golfing, hunting, camping and traveling.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at Tyrone Alliance Church.

A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at noon Friday at the church, with Pastor Carl Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Spring Run Brethren Cemetery, McVeytown.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home Eisenhower Hall, for their great care and compassion shown to Dick.

Arrangements are by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.

The family suggests that contributions in his memory be made to Tyrone Alliance Church; or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
