David A. Koelle, 84, of rural Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Gerald D. and Caroline W. (Behm) Koelle.
He married Harriet J. Mattern on Oct. 20, 1962, at Canoe Creek Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two children: son, G. Todd Koelle (Kimberly); and son, Wade B. Koelle (Sherry); daughter-in-law, Terry Koelle; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marsha Koelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by an infant son, Troy Koelle; a son, Brian Koelle; two sisters, Janice McGee and Kathy Hogan; and a brother, Roger Koelle.
Dave was a member of Second Avenue Global Methodist Church, Altoona.
He was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School.
He retired as Director of Purchasing for Boyer Candy Co.
Dave was a lifetime member of Geeseytown Community Fire Company, where he had served as Assistant Chief for a number of years.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at the funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Sandell officiating.
Interment will be made at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in memory of Dave please be made to Second Avenue Global Methodist Church, 130 Second Ave., Altoona, PA 16602; or to Geeseytown Community Fire Company, 215 Mary St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
