Darrell Hollingshead, 68, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Altoona, the son of Helen Hollingshead and the late James Hollingshead.
On April 18, 1996, he married Carol Schraff.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, Helen; sons, Luke and Joseph; a brother, James (Tina); a sister, Cathy Himes (Thomas); nephews: David James "DJ," Joshua and Nicholas; and a niece, Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Delores and Dorothy, both of whom he loved very much.
Darrell had many accomplishments in life and was grateful for them, but did not find them or his work history important to note. The most important things to him were his faith, family and friends. He also loved all animals but had a fondness for his macaw and dogs.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services.
