Cheryl Ann (Rinker) Knisely, 64, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Roaring Spring, a daughter of Gloria (Ball) Rinker and the late Carlton F. Rinker.

Surviving is her mother; a son, Anderson P. Knisely; sisters, Terri Pescatore, and husband, Jay, and Carlyn Bastian and husband, Roger; her nieces; and a goddaughter.

Cheryl was a 1979 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School and attended the Altoona School of Commerce. She retired as a customer service representative in 2008 from First Commonwealth Bank after 28 years of service.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altoona. She had previously been a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, where she served as organist, pianist, choir director, VBC volunteer, Sunday school teacher and lector.

Cheryl also played piano for numerous CACT musicals and played clarinet and percussion for the Claysburg American Legion Band.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
