Shirley A. "Hite" Longenecker, 80, of Roaring Spring, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Harrisburg. She was born in Roaring Spring, a daughter of the late Herbert E. Sr. and Rose (Fochler) Snyder.
On April 30, 1977, in Williamsburg, she married Bob Longenecker, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Michele Bowers and husband, Brian, of Roaring Spring; two grandchildren, Brinley Bowers and Preston Gregg and
fiancee, Paige; four siblings: Nancy Baker and husband, Dave, of Martinsburg, Janet Lee and husband, Terry, of Williamsburg, Rick Snyder and wife, Cindy, of Martinsburg and Gary Snyder and wife, Glenda, of Altoona; sister-in-law, Maryann Snyder of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert E. Snyder Jr. and Gerald Snyder.
Hite was a 1963 graduate of Central High School and was a member of Bare Memorial Church of God in Roaring Spring.
She enjoyed getting together and spending time with her family and friends and their many beach vacations to Sea Isle City, N.J. Hite loved cheering on the Central Dragons at many sporting events, watching Penn State Football and western TV shows.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at noon on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 111 E. Allegheny St., Martinsburg, with Pastor Steve DiBiase officiating. Private interment at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
