Sara B. “Sally” Cerully, 104, of Altoona, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in St. Clairsville, daughter of the late Merle and Daisy (Amick) Walters.
In 1939, she married Alfred Cerully, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1999.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Geraldine Patricia Hoffman and Rosemarie Bartlett. Sally was also a loving grandmother to six grandchildren; a great-grandmother to 16; and a great-great-grandmother to seven. She also leaves behind her dear niece, Donna George.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, George Cerully; son-in-law, Ronald Hoffman; grandson, James Hoffman; and sister, Lena Mae Bair.
Sally dedicated her time to working at the Goodwill in Hollidaysburg and Stroehman’s Bakery Thrift Store, and she took great pride in her role as a homemaker. Her passions included attending church, reading her Bible, shopping and savoring sweets, good coffee, conversation and a relaxing glass of red wine in the evenings. She also loved her kitties and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m.
Private interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
