Samuel Thomas "Sam" Eicher, 81, Claysburg, passed away Thursday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Alfred G. and Dorothy (Lingenfelter)
Eicher. On Sept. 17, 1966, he married Sandra Dively in Claysburg.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra; a son, Clayton Eicher; grandchildren, Amber (Jonathan) Shaw and Seth Eicher; a sister, Mary Lou Feathers and her husband, Delmas; and two nephews, Martin Feathers and Kenneth Claycomb.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Eicher.
He was a 1962 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1962-65. He was employed at Butterick as a pressman until the company closed.
He was a member of Claysburg United Methodist Church and the American Legion, Claysburg.
Sam enjoyed wood carving, riding his motorcycle and watching YouTube and Westerns. He liked talking to his friends, Carl Herman and John Reed.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at the funeral home, the Rev. Robert Sluder officiating. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
