Barros
Michelle M. (Trimarco) Barros, of Greer, S.C., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, at age 57, after facing cancer with strength and grace for several years.
Surviving are her loving husband of 33 years, Henrique Barros; her two sons, Alexander Barros of Atlanta, Ga., and Philip Barros of Greenville, S.C.; her parents, Philip and Carmel (Pucciarella) Trimarco, dually of Altoona and Pawleys Island, S.C.; her sisters: Renee Trimarco and her daughter, Ohana Sievers, of Mill Valley, Calif.; and Danielle Trimarco of Travelers Rest, S.C. Michelle’s extended family from the Altoona area and beyond includes aunts, uncles and cousins who dearly loved her.
Michelle was raised in Altoona and grew up near Highland Park. She attended St. Rose of Lima School and Church as a child and spent some of her high school years at Bishop Guilfoyle before moving with her family to Plano, Texas.
Michelle went on to study art history with the University of North Texas, which brought her to study abroad in Le Havre, France.
It was there that she met her husband, Henrique. Michelle and Henrique spent their first lovely years of marriage in France, and then came to the States together, where they eventually established in Greenville, S.C., and began a family.
Michelle stayed at home to raise their children through the boys’ early years. When they were older, she returned to work with Michelin, where she truly began a fast-tracked and impactful career. Michelle retired from Michelin with recognized celebration in 2024.
Michelle enjoyed her family and friends. She was a fantastic cook, a consummate foodie and an avid reader. She was intelligent, witty and her sense of humor was unmatched. Her ability to deliver an unanticipated punch line or a candid truth was ever present. She was as beautiful on the inside as on the outside, with her gorgeous smile and big, beautiful eyes. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her well, and even those who knew her briefly, but were touched by her wisdom and charm. To know Michelle was to love her.
Michelle will have a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Brookwood Church, 580 Brookwood Point Place, Simpsonville, SC 29650.
Michelle requested before passing that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Cancer Institute (give.cancerresearch.org).
