John T. Waibel Jr. MD, 83, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Grace Margaret (Christ) Waibel.
John was the beloved husband of the late Susan M. Waibel, whom he married, July 25, 1970; devoted father of Caroline Chebli (Joseph) of Venice, Fla., Mary Duncan (Scott) of Bloomsburg, Nancy Waibel of Duncansville and Robert Waibel (Angie) of Duncansville; proud "Pa" of 10 grandchildren; and brother of Jane Perschbach (Peter) of Georgetown, Texas.
A graduate of The University of Bologna's Medical School (Italy), John practiced medicine for more than four decades. He cherished every moment at the office and in the hospital.
John was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
He enjoyed coaching softball and basketball, playing tennis, spending time at the beach and traveling to Italy to visit with dear friends.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
Committal will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family requests that donations in memory of John, be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
