James Ray Whitfield, 90, of Saxton, passed away Wednesday. He was born in Huntingdon, son of Amos R. and Beatrice (Moffat) Whitfield. On Dec. 26, 1954, he married Phyllis Palmer, who survives; along with three children: Mark A. (Eddie Hay) Whitfield, Cindy R. (Craig) Segasser and Susan B. (Jerry) Park; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. Celebration of Life service on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1001 Church St., Saxton. Arrangements are by Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church St., Saxton.
