Doris E. Griswold, 95, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord Jesus, on Oct. 11, 2025, at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Dorsey and Rebecca (Figart) Winters.
She married Charles E. Griswold on Oct. 7, 1950, in Altoona. He preceded her in death Feb. 13, 2006.
Surviving are her three children: her son, Chuck (Debbie) Griswold; her daughters, Wendy S. Griswold and Marcia L. Selby (Rick); seven grandchildren: Courtney Matthews, Chad Griswold, Marcy Phillips, Tim Selby, Jamie Mauk, Eric Griswold and John Dellape; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Ryan Griswold.
Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School and a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Doris enjoyed sewing and crafting. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family on her patio.
Special thanks to all of the caretakers at Garvey Manor for their sincere and personal care for Doris over the past few years.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Tipton Baptist Church, with Pastor Jason Mauk, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris's name to Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child (OCC), P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607; or pack an OCC shoebox in her honor.
