Donald Eugene ‘Gene’ Banks

Surviving are his wife, Lora; children: Tony Banks (Michelle) of Akron, Ohio, Don Banks of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Banks of Homestead, Vance Allen of Pittsburgh, Tracy Allen (Andrea) of Atlanta, Ga., Melonie Allen of Cleveland, Ohio, Cherie Banks of Harrisburg, Sean Banks (Christine) of Harrisburg, Kylee Banks (Jeremy) of Altoona and Kenya Dennis (Michael)

of Leesville, La.; and a sister, Evelyn Patterson. Gene had a great love for his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings: Ronald, Robert, Leonard, Clyde, Sam and Carol Banks, Faythe Strover and Kathleen Parker.

Gene attended Faith Baptist Church, Altoona.

He retired as a supervisor at SKF USA Inc., after more than 20 years of employment.

Gene was a member of the Arandale Elks, Altoona. He was a Brooklyn and L.A. Dodgers fan and enjoyed baseball, softball, coaching women’s softball, watching Gunsmoke and Frank Sinatra music.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 315 40th St., Altoona, where a funeral service will start at 6 p.m. with Dr. Gary Dull officiating.

Arrangements are by Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
