David H. "Pooch" Johnson, 86, Altoona, died Tuesday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph Jr. and Elsie (Carland) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons, Jon Over Sr. and Richard Vance Sr.; a daughter, Michele Johnson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings: Richard "Dick" (Eunice) "Red" Johnson, Ralph (Joyce) Johnson, Toni Lang and Debbie Coyler. Friends will be received from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at the Axe & Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona. Arrangements are by Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, Altoona.
