Craig D. Schaffer, 69, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Craig was born in Reading, son of the late Leroy and Leona Mae (Fenstermacher) Schaffer. He married Kelley Jo Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kelley; two sons: Christopher Schaffer (Dana) of Carlisle and Adam Schaffer (Holly) of Altoona; three grandchildren: Cody, Logan and Elizabeth Schaffer; a brother, Karey Schaffer (Marge) of Reading; and a sister, Marlene Price of Robesonia.
Craig was a graduate of Wilson High School in Reading.
He retired as a driver for Blair Senior Services and was previously a radio personality on many local radio stations for over 30 years.
Craig loved music and was a founding member, vocalist and bassist for The Spoon River Band.
He was a longtime baseball fan and coach.
Friends will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Vineyard Altoona Church, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m.
