Betty I. Smith, 99, Duncansville, passed away Monday at home. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Paul J. and Alberta P. (Wilt) Riley.
She married George Smith Jr. on Oct. 30, 1948. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1989.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn F. Cruse and husband, Scott; two grandchildren, Courtney McIntyre and Eric S. Cruse; and three grandsons: Emory Anderson, Dillion James McIntyre Jr. and Dallas Riley Cruse.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas H. Riley, and his wife, Mary; and also by her stepfather, J. Edgar Rollins.
Betty was a 1944 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She had worked at Alto-Penn Oil Co. and Portage Auto Parts.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newry, the Blair County Genealogical Society and the Society of the Descendants of Valley Forge.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at St. Patrick Church, with Father Carl Vacek, TOR, as Celebrant. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park.
