Anne Marie Zelnosky, 88, of Duncansville, formerly of Altoona, passed away Thursday morning at The Winds at Mattern Orchard. She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Michael and Serafina (Lizzio) Glova.
Anne married Richard J. Zelnosky on Sept. 6, 1958. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2019.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Zelnosky (Sharon) of Hanover, Md., and Mark Zelnosky (Kiersten) of Altoona; six daughters: Diane Gormley (Dale) of Altoona, Karen Lynn (Mark) of Altoona, Linda McMahon (Bill) of Wilmington, Del., Christine McKeon (Rich) of Duncansville, Kathleen Gracey (Steve) of Bedford and Jennifer Strawmier (Mike) of Altoona; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marguerite Hite (James) of Ebensburg and Rosemary Zenone of St. Benedict; a sister-in-law, Shirley Glova of St. Benedict; an “adopted” son, Thanh Nguyen; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Anne was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan McKeon; and two siblings, Barbara Gray and Michael Glova.
She was a graduate of John Carroll High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Anne retired as the executive secretary from Respect Life Office. She previously worked as a registered nurse at various locations.
Anne was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont.
She received the Solution of Hope Award, Mom’s House, Precious Life Award and the PA Pro-Life Federation Appreciation Award. Anne was an Honorary Alumna of St. Francis University. She was a founding member of Citizens Concerned for Human Life and was a member of Italian Heritage Society, National Parents Commission and was an active member of the Republican Party.
Anne was a cantor at Mass, loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family and enjoyed traveling.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 344 Baynton Ave., Altoona, with Monsignor Michael Becker, celebrant.
Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests that contributions be made in Anne’s memory to Precious Life, 1716 12th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601; or Catholic Charities of Altoona/Johnstown, 1300 12th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
