Wanda E. Liebal, 91, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday. She was born at Canoe Creek, daughter of the late Raymond S. Leaper and Dorothy Ella (Wileman) Wilson.
During her childhood, Wanda resided at the Children's Home of Williamsburg for a number of years with her brothers. She went on to graduate from Hollidaysburg High School in 1953.
Her husband, Robert Liebal, of Ganister, preceded her in death. They were married on Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Williamsburg by Father Francis Hoy. She was also predeceased by a son, David; brothers, Clarence (Mike) Leaper and Charles (Stoner) Leaper; and half-brother, Dwayne Allen.
Surviving are children: Theresa Green (Michael) of Altoona, Michael (Dawn) of Altoona, Mark (Monica) of Roaring Spring and Derek (Michele) of New Germany; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; half-brothers: Raymond of Hollidaysburg, Philip of Altoona, Dan of Huntingdon and Don of Reading; and half-sisters: Wyona of Bellwood, Leona of Altoona, Patrella of Hollidaysburg, Trish of Altoona, Paula of Williamsburg and Janet of Reading.
She was a member of Roaring Spring Fire Company and Roaring Spring Ambulance Club.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.
