Rodney R. "Rod" David, 72, Bellwood, passed away on Friday at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ray N. David and Helen E. (Walters) David.
He is survived by his mother; daughters, Nicole (Michael) Leshok of Sykesville and Christina (James) Higgins of Pittsburgh; siblings: Mary (Jim) Cowan, Tim (Pat) David and Jeff David, all of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Cross (Kyra) Harris, Cash Leshok, Ashley Leshok, Mackenzie Leshok, Reese Leshok, Sophie Higgins, Sara Higgins and Myah Higgins; and a great-grandchild, Viviana, along with another on the way.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew David.
Rod graduated high school from Bellwood-Antis School District. He then worked as a mechanic and machine operator.
In his spare time, Rod enjoyed hiking, woodworking, automotive repair and photography. He especially loved riding his Harley with his friends. Rod also treasured spending time with his grandchildren.
Family and Friends will be received at Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care Inc. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at 10 a.m., Rev. Dr. Barry M. Folmar officiant. Interment will follow at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
