Raymond DeGol

Raymond DeGol, 91, Gallitzin, passed away Saturday at his residence.

He was born in Glen White, Blair County, son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Balest) DeGol.

Surviving are his children: Louise DeGol (Fred Stevens Jr.) and Raymond V. (Lisa) DeGol, all of Gallitzin; grandchildren: Vincent (Chrissy); Kelly and Dylan (Nikki) DeGol; great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Evan, Michael, Jaina, Lucas and Jason; brothers: Leno DeGol, John DeGol and James (Betty Anne) DeGol; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Plunkett) DeGol; and brothers and sisters: Tony, Mary, Bruno, Victor, Leo, Sam and Dora.

Ray was a gifted carpenter and worked as a truck driver. He retired from the DeGol Organization in 2020 with 69 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a proud member of the Italian Mutual Society in Gallitzin.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home Inc., 301 Church St., Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at St. Demetrius Roman Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Father Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
