Nancy (Swope) Buchanan

Nancy (Swope) Buchanan, 99, passed away peacefully after a long illness, at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, where she had been a resident since the spring of 2015.
She was the daughter of Marion and George Swope, and lived her entire life in Hollidaysburg, which she loved dearly.
Known to all as a warm, kind person with a ready smile and an open heart, she was predeceased by husband, Randy Buchanan, to whom she was married from June 18, 1950, until his death in 2006.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and is survived by a sister, Marion Elizabeth (Betsy) VanAlstyne; her four children: Kate Nicklas (Paul), Doug Buchanan (Lynn), Philip Buchanan and Bruce Buchanan (Carla); along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg, where she worshiped regularly for many years.
There will be a private funeral service, and a family celebration of Nancy’s life.
Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
The family encourages contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in Nancy’s memory.
