Mervin Grover Brumbaugh

Mervin Grover Brumbaugh, 89, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday at Embassy of Huntingdon Park. He was born in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Paul Alvin and Ruth Elizabeth (Allison) Brumbaugh.

On April 10, 1954, he married Betty Louise (Bishop) Brumbaugh. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2024, after 70 years of marriage.

Mervin was a 1954 graduate of Williamsburg High School and faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church, rural Martinsburg.

He was a dairy farmer by trade, first in Warriors Mark and later in Sinking Valley. Mervin farmed his own farm for more than 60 years, was a member of the Williamsburg Farm Show Board for 43 years and served as a director for Valley Rural Electric.

He enjoyed attending tractor shows and pulls and hunting.

Mervin was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abbi Brumbaugh; son-in-law, Robert Johnson; and siblings: Allison Brumbaugh, Thelma Baker, Margaret Sollenberger and Paul A. Brumbaugh Jr.

Surviving are children: Doretta Chencharick (Mike) of Ramey, Darrell Brumbaugh (Connie), Dale Brumbaugh (Denice), Dwayne Brumbaugh (Sue), Dorcas Johnson and Dwight Brumbaugh, all of Williamsburg, and Denise Fawks (Bryan) of Altoona; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at Fink & Stone Funeral Home, Williamsburg; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at Heritage Baptist Church, Martinsburg, with Pastor Mark E. Biter officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heritage Baptist Church, 203 King James Lane, Martinsburg, PA 16662; or to Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company, 305 E. Second St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
