Aug. 29, 1944 – Sept. 20, 2025

Bougher

Kenneth Robert Bougher, 81, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Saturday at his home under the watchful and loving care of his wife and daughter.

Ken was a proud Vietnam veteran who served two tours with the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. His service instilled in him a lifelong dedication to supporting fellow veterans. He received several awards for his exceptional efforts in employing veterans as owner of Henneman Detective Agency.

Throughout his life, he embraced many roles -- licensed detective, truant officer, school bus and Brinks driver, butcher and staff member at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. In each, he brought integrity, commitment and his signature good humor.

Ken will be remembered most for his warm, jovial spirit. His quick wit and unforgettable catchphrases were a joy that stayed with him until his final days.

He found happiness in life's simple pleasures -- his trusty Rottweiler companions, a cold popsicle (or five) and a great bargain.

A graduate of Altoona High School, he went on to complete extensive training in law enforcement, including studies at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Beyond his work, Ken was deeply rooted in his community as an active member of organizations such as the American Legion, Altoona Area High School Alumni Association, Blair County Law Enforcement Association, Free and Accepted Masons, Jaffa Shriners, Kiwanis and Lions Club.

Ken leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and dedication.

He is survived, most notably, by his devoted wife of 62 years, Sandra; his daughter, Lori; his grandson, Brandon; his brother, Dennis; and two nieces, Denise and Danielle.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeff; and brother, Randy.

Friends and loved ones are welcome to join in honoring Ken's life at his burial service with military honors at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery Mausoleum Section, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to a local charity of your choice, such as Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E.
