Kathleen F. (Mattern) Jackson, 72, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Kathy was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James G. Sr. and Patricia L. (Mitchell) Mattern.
She was a 1970 graduate of Altoona Area High School and, in 1998, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oakland University of Michigan.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert; a sister, Mary Lou (Greg) Perry; two sons, David in California and Joseph of Grand Prairie, Texas; two stepchildren, Brian of San Diego, Calif., and Lindsey of Durham, N.C; four grandchildren; four nephews; and a niece.
Kathy was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly; and a brother, James Jr.
Kathy enjoyed traveling and visiting places such as Ireland, Nova Scotia, Maui, Key West and a number of National Parks. She also enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football.
